BTS RM’s history-making American Music Awards win kicked off early celebrations ahead of the highly anticipated BTS reunion and the global sensation’s upcoming 13th anniversary. The bittersweet victory came at the loss of his own bandmate, Jimin, who was the only other BTS member to be nominated in the Favourite K-pop Artist category.
Scripting an unbeatable achievement as the first Korean rapper to not only secure a nomination at the AMAs both as a solo artist and group member, but also clinch the golden win in the said category, RM soon took over social media trends. Hashtags and key phrases like “Congratulations RM,” “#RM_AMAFavoriteKpopArtist,” and “#RMwinsAtAMA2025” gained traction on the X, while BTS ARMYs were already busy counting down the days to when all seven members find their way back to each other and their fans.
BTS military discharge dates
Currently, all members, except Jin and J-Hope, are still completing their obligations to their country as part of their respective military service schedules. Kim Seokjin, the eldest of the lot, started this new chapter as the first one to enlist in December 2022. On the other hand, Suga was the last to depart for his military commitments. And so, their discharge dates are as follows:
- RM and V: June 10, 2025
- Jimin and Jungkook: June 11, 2025
- Suga: June 21, 2025

With Suga on track to return last, we’re now left with 25 days until BTS reunion. As a result, tags like #25DaysTillBTSreunion, “2 5Days Until BTS Reunion,” and “D-25 for BTS Reunion,” simultaneously climbed the charts on social media. The much-awaited moment when the group members will finally be back to sharing the same physical space also coincides with the acclaimed septet’s official debut anniversary on June 13. So far, reports suggest that an OT7 comeback and group concert may unlock BTS’ next musical chapter by the end of this year or in 2026.
BTS 12th anniversary celebrations
This year’s annual celebrations will mark BTS’ 12th anniversary. Dates around that day are usually officially blocked as part of the ‘BTS FESTA’ festivities. J-Hope had previously opened up why the landmark moment will be particularly meaningful this year.
“Most of the members will be discharged by then. I thing FESTA will be extremely meaningful this year. It’s our debut day. I think on that day I will be emotional,” he said during a surprise livestream. “We planned it this way, and after many discussion, we wanted to do this with many ARMYs. Now we’ll have a FESTA that had Bangtan in it. Finally! It’s a big concert and it’s important to me. I’m going to prepare a lot. It is the final, after all!”
The last few comments referred to the “Hope World” icon’s since-announced encore concert dates for his solo world tour, “HOPE ON THE STAGE.” He will be performing in Seoul on June 13 and closing out his solo world tour with the big finale on June 14. This particular final concert, serving as a goodbye to his solo stages before the BTS reunion, will also be streamed live online for fans.

Other BTS FESTA schedules, if any, have yet to be officially announced. BTS fans are also desperately counting on the members to collectively drop new music. However, official word on a full-group comeback is awaited. Despite temporarily stepping away from their professional musical pursuits as a group, the members continued exploring solo opportunities over this period spanning more than a two-year-gap. It’s been five years since BTS last released their studio album, “Be.”
BTS reunion impact
Even the mental image of all BTS members coming back together is no joke. In an interview with Weverse Magazine, J-Hope spoke up about the shift from pursuing their own ventures to finally working together as BTS again.
“There are certainly things we need to do as BTS,” he told the publication. “When we’re all back together as a group, it’s going to have a huge impact, and everybody’s going to be watching. I’m excited to see what it’ll feel like when we perform together again. I want to come back in style and say, ‘This is us. This is BTS.’ I can’t speak for everyone, but I can tell you the other members feel the same way.”

Meanwhile, the group’s leader, RM, firmly believes that even their time apart happened for a reason. “I believe that the experience of being able to be completely free and honest will have a good influence on our team when BTS transitions to the next chapter,” he said of the group’s eventual reunion, as per People. “…That’s the way I live, knowing that you realize what’s precious after losing it and that you can only take off something after you’ve tried it on. So I’m going to try to take it off this time.”
On the other hand, for Jimin, the thought of coming back was also defined by a little fear. “It’s been quite some time since we all performed together, and it’s been a while since I’ve fully devoted myself to music and the stage. So, I do feel a bit scared, but my determination to give you the best stage possible, for all of you who have waited for us, has not wavered,” the “Serendipity” crooner laid his heart break, according to Koreaboo.
Just days ago, Jin stepped out as a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he declared the other six members his “lifesavers.” Although he appeared to have enjoyed his time alone (all fellow introverts can relate), but there’s more to the story. “When they come back, since they worked very hard, I’m going to honour them and give them great respect,” he told the late night show host.
