Vipraj Nigam from Delhi Capitals said that the team is determined to bounce back, and not just limit itself to reaching the playoffs but to secure a top-two finish in the IPL standings. DC faced the loss of 14-run loss to KKR after struggling to chase the target of 205. However, Nigam admitted that some errors in shot selection cost them the match on Tuesday.

Vipraj Nigam accepts errors

“There are some decisions that we take at the last moment, because of which the game gets messed up sometimes here and there. But we are still in the top four, and we have five more games left, in which we will try to come back and finish in the top two,” Nigam told PTI reporters.

Delhi Capital currently stands in the fourth position, having 12 points in IPL 2025.

“Our plan was to target their two main spinners, and we did that in the first two overs but there were a few moments where we erred in our shot selection, or something like that happened because of which our set players got out. Against such a bowling line-up, it is very difficult to come and play a shot immediately. That’s why if the set players kept playing, we would have easily won the match,” Nigam said.

The DC leg spinner and all-rounder went wicketless in the previous 4 matches but returned with figures of 2 for 41 runs and also scored a 19-ball 38 runs.

Support from senior palyers

“The IPL is a journey full of highs and lows, but what truly matters is the strength of your mindset and the atmosphere within the team. The support from senior players plays a crucial role, and they’ve always stood by me.” The Uttar Pradesh batter demonstrated his talent with a solid knock, hitting five boundaries and two sixes to keep DC’s hopes alive against KKR.

“Even last year, I had similar performances in domestic cricket, scoring 70–75 runs in a few games. However, I also had some poor outings in between, which affected my confidence. At such times, you need support or a break. Fortunately, I regained my form right when the IPL began.”
