Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was roped in by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for his debut IPL and scored a century off 35 balls, has yet again impressed everyone with his batting prowess. Suruyavanshi has scored 190 runs in just 90 balls at a practice match at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru ahead of the England tour.

Videos of him smashing runs with his bat have gone viral on social media. People are lauding him for his “madness” on the field. Some are saying that he has “explosive talent” and that he is the “next big thing in Indian Cricket”.

The 14-year-old has been picked up for India’s U-19 squad, led by Ayush Mhatre, and is set to play five ODI matches and one practice match in England between June 24 and July 23. Vaibhav Suryavanshi will open the innings alongside India U-19 captain Ayush Mhatre against England.

He made his IPL debut this year with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and hit six on the very first ball he faced in the tournament. He also scored a half-century against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He has the record of scoring the most sixes in an IPL edition before turning 20. He has so far scored 24 sixes.

“I received over 500 missed calls, but I had kept my phone switched off. A lot of people have approached me after the century, but I don’t like that. I try to stay away. I told you I had my phone off for four days. I like to be around my family and a few close friends. That’s it,” Suryavanshi told Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid after the match.

He was just 12 years old when he made his Ranji debut.
