With undefeated centuries from Watson himself and Ben Dunk (132), Australia secured a dominant 95-run victory. However, it was Tendulkar’s classic stroke play that captivated the audience. The Indian legend lit up the chase with a dazzling 64 off just 33 balls, showcasing his signature drives and powerful sixes.
One particular moment stood out—Tendulkar’s iconic straight six off Ben Hilfenhaus, a shot that left even opposition captain Shane Watson in awe. Watson, reflecting on the moment, admitted that the stroke instantly transported him back 15 years.
“That straight drive for six was vintage Tendulkar. The entire team quietly applauded. That, along with his cover drive for six, was just brilliant. You could see how much he enjoyed it—he put his head down as if saying, ‘I’ve been waiting to play that shot again.’ It was a privilege to witness.” shared Watson.
