Legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne turned 48 on Wednesday and wishes by twitterati are pouring in. The magician who picked up 708 wickets in Test cricket is known as one of the best spinners of all-time. While the entire world was busy praising Warnie, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag had different ideas. The dashing opener was at his witty best while wishing Warne on Twitter. Sehwag shared an old image with Warne from their playing days in which the Aussie can be seen wearing a plaster. In the caption, Sehwag wrote that the batsmen always wished that Warne’s hands remained in plaster while he was bowling.

“Wishing the former Australian player happy birthday, Sehwag tweeted, “Batsmen always wished ur hands were plastered like this while you were bowling,or atleast you warned them. Happy Birthday legend @ShaneWarne,” Sehwag wrote with the image. Warne played a total of 145 Tests in his career is still the second highest wicket taker in international cricket after Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan. Warne had always been an admirer of Sehwag during their playing days. “He is a good guy. With a Kevin Pietersen, he is one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world. No one likes bowling to him,” Warne had said, according to a report by The Indian Express.

While Warne is more than happy sitting in the commentary box, Sehwag is set to return to action in T10 format in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) along with Chris Gayle, Shahid Afridi and Kumar Sangakkara. The participating teams are Team Punjabis, Team Pakhtoons, Team Maratha, Team Banglas, Team Lankans, Team Sindhis and Team Keralites, among others.
