The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is nearly a month away with the first match set to be played between Pakistan and Netherlands at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on February 7. West Indies take on Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on the same date to kick off the ICC event in India.

As many as 20 teams are taking part in the marquee event with India entering the competition as the defending champions. The 20 sides are divided into four groups and fixtures are scheduled across five venues in India and three cities in Sri Lanka. While there are 40 group-stage matches set to be played between February 7-20, the top two teams from each group will then progress to the Super Eight stage of the tournament which will get underway on February 21.

The top four teams at the end of the Super Eights then directly proceed to the knockout stage of the tournament. Although the semi-final will be held in Kolkata or Colombo and Mumbai, the final is scheduled for March 8 in Ahmedabad or Colombo.
