Paris 2024 Olympics Games Opening Ceremony: The Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:00 PM Indian Standard Time on Friday, July 26 on the Seine River. The opening ceremony of the Olympics will not take place inside a typical stadium, but rather outside on a six km stretch of the Seine River for the first time in its history. 

The parade will begin at the Austerlitz Bridge and end in front of the famous Eiffel Tower in Trocadéro. Final shows and the remaining aspects of Olympic procedure will happen. Performers will accompany the delegations and boat passengers during the parade, enhancing the majesty and magnificence of the occasion.

Indian representative at Opening Ceremony

The two-time Olympic champion PV Sindhu and five-time Olympian Sharath Kamal, who plays table tennis, will head the Indian delegation in the Paris 2024 Parade of Nations. At an Olympic Opening Ceremony, they will be the first athletes from their respective sports to represent India with the flag. 

112 Indian athletes, including five reserve athletes, will compete in 69 medal events in 16 different sports in Paris. In keeping with the tricolour of India’s flag, the women will wear matching saris while the men will wear kurta bundi ensembles at the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony. Tarun Tahiliani is the designer of the clothes, which contain Banarasi brocade and traditional ikat-inspired motifs.
