After the event, Neeraj Chopra expressed his dissatisfaction with his performance. “It was a good throw, but I’m not that happy with my performance today,” he said. “My technique and runway were not up to par. I only managed one successful throw; the rest were fouls.”
He continued, “For my second throw, I believed I could achieve a great distance. However, in javelin, if your run isn’t right, you can’t throw very far.” Chopra’s medal-winning throw came on his second attempt.
Neeraj's father commented on his son's silver medal finish, stating that a groin injury might have hindered his performance in Paris. Neeraj had previously mentioned this injury and was expected to consult with doctors after the Olympics.
