YouTube star MrBeast has set the internet abuzz with an interesting idea, a one-on-one basketball game between Michael Jordan and LeBron James to finally settle the NBA’s long-standing GOAT debate. Inspired by one of his own viral videos of Cristiano Ronaldo, MrBeast shared his dream of staging the famous face-off during a livestream with fellow content creator Adin Ross.
The Portuguese football player competed against a fan in that video for a $1 million prize, which he claimed inspired him to aim even higher. “One of my most viewed videos last year was when I had Cristiano Ronaldo play a random fan one-on-one for a million dollars,” MrBeast said. “So I was randomly thinking the other day, imagine getting LeBron and Michael Jordan to go 1v1, but we handicap LeBron in some way.”
Why MrBeast want to host the Michael Jordan vs LeBron James match?
Even though Mr. Beast admitted that organising such an event would be extremely difficult, he did not completely rule it out. “They would never do it,” he admitted, “but imagine if we could get that to happen—you know how f***ing crazy that would be.”
Adin Ross, showing off his signed LeBron jersey during the stream, encouraged the idea, telling MrBeast, “If anyone can make it happen, it’s you. That would be the craziest video ever.” Still, both creators recognised the challenges involved.
Ross questioned Jordan’s accessibility, saying, “I feel like LeBron is doable, but Michael Jordan… I heard he’s such a hard, inaccessible person to get in touch with.” MrBeast agreed but noted that even seemingly impossible ideas sometimes come to life.
MrBeast went on to say, “I thought that was impossible… but we ended up making it happen,” showing a recent video shot inside the Great Pyramids of Egypt. If you work on all twenty of your seemingly insurmountable ideas, you will eventually figure out how to complete one. Though purely speculative for now, the idea has sparked excitement across social media. Given MrBeast’s track record of turning ambitious concepts into reality, fans may not want to dismiss the possibility entirely.
‘Micheal better by farrrrrr’
Netizens reacted to the MrBeast’s announcement. A user noted, “Jordan all day, not even sure LeBron would be rested enough to do this.” “mr beast making a good video that isn’t just poor people fighting for money to buy their sick kids medicine? amazing,” added another. If it happens it’ll have to be scripted,” opined another. “I feel like it could happen in a year or two,” claimed a user.
