While specifics of the incident leading to the breach were not detailed in the IPL statement, it is speculated that Rana’s celebration following the dismissal of Mayank Agarwal may have triggered the code of conduct violation.
Rana walked in front of the SRH opener and blew him a flying kiss after taking his wicket. Rana was found guilty of two Level 1 offences under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.
Rana admitted to the two offences and accepted the sanctions imposed by the Match Referee, emphasising that the decision of the Match Referee in such Level 1 breaches is final and binding.
Despite the disciplinary issue, Rana remained composed and delivered a crucial performance by defending 13 runs in the last over, securing a winning start to the season for KKR.
