Mumbai, eager to salvage pride in their last game of teh season in front of the home crowd, saw Rohit Sharma blaze away to a scintillating 68. His partnership with Dewald Brevis provided a fiery start, but LSG’s bowling attack turned the tide. Ravi Bishnoi and Naveen-ul-Haq, the architects of MI’s downfall, took two wickets each. Despite Naman Dhir’s late fireworks (62* off 28), Mumbai’s chase fizzled out, leaving them stranded at 196/8.
Rain interruptions added drama, disrupting Mumbai’s momentum. Lucknow’s bowlers, especially Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya, stifled the middle order, taking crucial wickets at pivotal moments. The defeat highlighted Mumbai’s season—full of promise but lacking execution—as they finished at the bottom of the points table at number 10. This was the second time in the history of IPL that MI finished at last.
