IPL 2024: There were nearly 20 crore viewers watching livestreaming of the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders and rightly so. After all, the nail-biting final over was the testimony of craziness that T20 cricket is all about. At the end of the day, Heinrich Klaasen despite Heinrich Klaasen’s stunning turnaround, Harshit Rana stole the show and won the match for his team at their home ground in Kolkata Eden Garden on Saturday.
Defending 13 runs in last over, the 22-year-old showed great composure and didn’t miss chance. Bowling last delivery to SRH captain Pat Cummins, Rana bowled the delivery of the day and with that KKR registered a 4-run victory over Sunrisers.
Earlier in the evening, Andre Russell’s explosive unbeaten innings of 64 runs from just 25 balls, including three fours and seven sixes, along with Phil Salt’s more composed 54 off 40 balls, lifted KKR to a mammoth total of 208 for seven. T Natarajan emerged as the most successful bowler for SRH, clinching a three-wicket haul with figures of 3/32. Despite several moments where SRH appeared capable of chasing down the target, particularly when Heinrich Klaasen unleashed a flurry of boundaries towards the end, the Hyderabad side narrowly fell short of reaching the mark.
