As the voting in Delhi for seven parliamentary seats are underway, BJP East Delhi MP and Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir was seen exercising his democratic right to vote.
Gambhir was sighted in Delhi a day before his team goes head-to-head with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final clash for the title of this IPL season.
Tomorrow, in Chennai, KKR will be facing SRH in the ultimate showdown.
Gambhir votes in Delhi, Kapil Dev in Haryana
After casting his ballot, Gambhir urged fellow citizens to participate in the electoral process, emphasising the government’s decade-long commitment to progress. “All I want to say is that everyone should come out and vote in large numbers. This is our power, this is our democracy. The Govt has worked for development in the last 10 years,” he added.
Besides Gambhir, former India captain and cricekting legend Kapil Dev was seen casting his vote in Haryana.
Outside the polling booth, Dev could be heard saying, “I feel very happy that we are under democracy. The important thing is to pick the right people for your constituency…What we can do is more important than what the govt can do.”
