IPL 2017: Mumbai Indians put up a disappointing show with the bat against the Rising Pune Supergiant in the final of the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League. The two-time champions failed to build partnerships as Pune dominated the game from the word go at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Sunday evening. However, one man who stole the thunder was left-arm fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat who probably pulled off the catch of the season to get rid of Mumbai Indians’ opener Lendl Simmons.
In the third over of Mumbai Indians innings, Unadkat took a stunning reflex catch to send back Lendl Simmons. Unadkat smartly rolled his fingers on one of his deliveries and then followed it up with a stunning catch on the follow-throw. Watch the video here:
Pune was outstanding in the field and soon after Unadkat’s catch, captain Steve Smith produced another moment of brilliance in the field. Smith got rid of Ambati Rayudu with a direct throw from mid-off to push Mumbai in further trouble. Later in the innings, Shardul Thakur also pulled off a stunner to dismiss Rohit Sharma at the boundary.
