IPL 2025 mega auction is all set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. For this season, 1574 players have registered and are contesting for a total of 204 slots.

This year, each team will be able to have a maximum squad of 25 players. Out of the 1574 players, 1,165 are Indian cricketers, while 409 are from overseas. The IPL auction list features 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from Associate Nations.

When the IPL retention window closed recently, the 10 franchises had collectively retained a total of 46 players, with a combined investment of Rs 558.5 crore.

Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals went for full retentions, securing six players each. Five teams – Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad – opted to retain five players each.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings retained four, three, and two players, respectively. Heading into the eagerly awaited mega auction, Punjab Kings hold the largest purse, with Rs 110.5 crore in hand.
