As a gesture of solidarity, the Gujarat Titans will trade their signature blue for lavender jerseys in their upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday, May 22. This marks the third consecutive year the Ahmedabad-based franchise will sport the lavender hue in a home game, dedicating the match to raising crucial awareness about the fight against cancer.

The Gujarat Titans emphasised their commitment to the cause in an official statement, highlighting their aim to underscore the significance of early detection and ensuring access to quality care for cancer patients.
“As athletes, we recognise the platform we have to influence change. Wearing these lavender jerseys is our way of showing solidarity with cancer warriors and honouring their resilience,” stated Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill. “We believe that through awareness and education, we can empower individuals to take charge of their health and contribute to a future where cancer is no longer a formidable foe.”
Adding to the impactful initiative, the franchise announced plans to actively engage fans in the cause. The Gujarat Titans will distribute a remarkable thirty thousand lavender flags and ten thousand lavender jerseys amongst the spectators, transforming the stadium into a sea of support.

On 22nd May, Ahmedabad will echo the message of solidarity from thousands of spectators in the fight against cancer, as we aim to bring about awareness that cancer, in any form, can be fought and defeated with proper care.”
On the cricketing front, the Gujarat Titans are enjoying a stellar season, currently holding the top position in the IPL 2025 standings and having already secured their spot in the playoffs. With two more league matches to go, they boast a formidable 18 points.
