Despite a tremendous effort by Mahipal Lamror, who played a remarkable innings of 33 runs from just 13 balls, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fell short in their chase against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday. Lamror’s blazing cameo momentarily revived RCB’s hopes after a top-order collapse. However, the lack of substantial support from other batsmen resulted in RCB’s downfall. Big names in the team failed to contribute significantly, and RCB couldn’t bat out the full 20 overs, getting bowled out in 19.4 overs.

21-year-old Mayank Yadav turned the tide against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), sending shivers down their spine with a stellar performance by picking up three wickets. The star-studded RCB lineup, featuring Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green, failed to score under pressure.

Ambati Rayadu criticises senior RCB players

Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player Ambati Rayudu didn’t shy away from criticising the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) players and their team management following a 28-run defeat to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at home.

“I feel their bowling always gives over-par runs and batting performs under par. No big-name batter is seen playing for RCB when they are under pressure. Such teams never win. This is why they have not won the IPL for so many years,” Rayudu said on Star Sports.

Rayudu noted that RCB has always depended on their top-order batsmen. When these players fail, the team struggles to score big. He mentioned that this has been the case for 16 years.

“All young players keep playing down the order and the big-name players go at the top and leave after eating the cake over the cream. If you see, who were the batters batting under pressure – your young Indian batters and Dinesh Karthik,” Rayudu added.
