The Indian cricket team left for an exciting South African tour in December and January. The team will play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs, and two tests against the hosts, starting from Sunday. The T20 team will play under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, while KL Rahul will captain the ODI squad. Rohit Sharma and Kohli have been rested from the white ball cricket, and they will play in the Boxing Day test.
Indian team recently played a five-game T20I series against Australia, where they tested the young squad in the absence of the key World Cup players and regulars of the T20 team such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul and Mohammad Shami.
Hardik Pandya, who was diagnosed with an ankle injury during the World Cup game against Bangladesh, will not be a part of the tour. Interestingly Sanju Samson, Sai Sudharsan, and Rajat Patidar, Arshdeep Singh and Rinku Singh have been included in the ODI squad.
Axar Patel, who was the man of the match twice in the T20 series against Australia is not a part of the T20 squad against South Africa. Prasidh Krishna has also been kept away from white ball cricket.
