Earlier, invited to bat first after Sri Lanka won the toss, Team India rode on superb half centuries by Virat Kohli (88 runs off 94 balls), Shubman Gill (92 runs off 92 balls), and Shreyas Iyer’s 82 runs off 56 deliveries), to put 357 runs on board in their allotted 50 overs.
The only successful bowler for Sri Lanka was Dilshan Madhushanka who took 5 wickets for 80 runs in 10 overs.
Notably, India have been unstoppable thus far in the tournament. Riding a six-game winning streak, Rohit Sharma and his team enterwed the match as the favorites. In their previous outing, they convincingly defeated defending champions England by a margin of 100 runs.
