India vs. New Zealand semi-final: Mumbai police arrested a man for allegedly black-marketing the tickets for the semi-final game between India and New Zealand to be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15. Akash Kothari was arrested from his home in Northern Malad by the JJ Police Station, according to a police official, reported ANI.

The man came to notice through a message circulated across various groups on WhatsApp, where he was selling match tickets from Rs 27,000 to Rs 2.5 lakhs. “This is more than 4 to 5 times the original ticket price,” added the police official. The man is held under Sections 420 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code. Probes are underway, and a racket behind the black marketing of tickets is suspected by the police.

India finished the group stage in the first position with an unbeaten streak of nine games. New Zealand, which finished fourth, also faced India in the previous edition of the Cricket World Cup in England, where it defeated India by 18 runs. New Zealand finished as the runners-up, losing to the host England in the Super Over.

In their previous meeting during the current edition, India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets with two overs to spare while chasing a target of 273. Virat Kohli scored 95 in the game, while Shami took five wickets. For New Zealand, centurion Daryl Mitchell stood out with an innings of 130 runs in 127 balls.

Australia Vs South Africa on November 16

The other semi-final is set to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where the five-time champion Australia will take on South Africa. Both teams have performed strongly in the tournament so far. Australia lost their semi-final to England in the previous edition, while South Africa witnessed an unfortunate exit during the 2015 semi-final.

The final will be played on November 19, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
