India vs Australia 3rd T20: Team India finds itself in the 2-0 lead against Australia in the five-match series. The series moves for its third encounter to Northeast India, where both teams will play at the Baraspara Stadium in Guwahati. While India will step on the field to seal the series, Australia will try to make a comeback.

After two games, India has outshined Australia in all aspects of the game. They have won a game each by chasing and defending and scored over 200 runs in both high-scoring games. In the first game, India comfortably chased 209 runs, while in the second game, India was all over Australia and posted a mammoth total of 234 runs on the board batting first, to win the game by 44 runs.

India’s Performance Review

Today’s win will help India seal the series and India will get to experiment more by testing its bench strength, giving a chance to aspiring players in the next two games. For India, the likes of pacer Mukesh Kumar, and spinners Ravi Bishnoi, and Axar Patel have been instrumental with the ball in the first two games. Fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Prasidh Krishna have been a little expensive, but they have bowled well with discipline.

With the bat, the top order has performed well in the previous two games. Despite an unfortunate diamond duck in the first game, Ruturaj Gaikwad made a strong comeback and played an anchoring innings, scoring a half-century. His partner Jaiswal roared with the bat and scored a fiery half-century in the previous game.

Ishan Kishan has two consecutive half-centuries in the series, and captain SKY looks in great form too. Rinku Singh has turned out to be the most reliable finisher for India over the years and his character shows glimpses of young Dhoni.

Australia’s Performance Review

However, for Australia, it will be a bigger challenge, since the return of World Cup winners Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa didn’t help them in the second game, and they would rectify their errors from the previous game. Their bowling unit has conceded 200+ runs in consecutive games and failed to exert pressure on Indian batsmen.

With the bat, Australia didn’t produce anything special yet. Other than a partnership between Stoinis and Tim David, no other batsmen has shown the intent to put up a challenge. Similarly, Inglis’ century against India overshadowed any other contribution from teammates in the first game.

Winner prediction

According to Google, the win probability of India is higher at 55 per cent, while for Australia, it is 45 per cent. Having lost two games in the Indian backyard, it would be difficult for the visitors to win the game. However, the margin is very narrow.
