India vs Australia 3rd T20: The Big Show of Cricket Glenn Maxwell has once again put on a brilliant show while chasing a colossal target of 222 set by India in the third T20 at Guwahati. Maxwell hit a brilliant century, taking 47 balls to play the decisive knock. His innings were instrumental for his team when he single-handedly chased down 21 runs in the last over.

Ruturaj’s century in vain

While asked to bat first, India set a target of 222 runs, their third consecutive 200+ in three games. Ruturaj Gaikwad stood out as the leading run scorer for India with a brilliant century, scoring 123 runs in just 57 balls. He carried his bat for the match. However, Maxwell’s effort with the bat overshadowed his innings.

Tough day for Bowlers

Not a good day for the bowlers, the match witnessed 445 runs being scored in 40 overs bowled in the high-scoring encounter. However, Jason Behrendorff stood out as the best bowler, phenomenally conceding only 12 runs in his quota of 4 overs and a wicket. For India, Ravi Bishnoi bowled the most economical spell by giving away 32 runs from his 4 overs.

Early breakthroughs for India

Despite a good start, India managed to put pressure on the Australian batters by taking wickets at regular intervals. However, the last-recognised batting pair of Matthew Wade and Maxwell made sure that they did not expose the tail of the batting unit to the Indian bowling unit.

Prasidh Krishna poor show with the ball

Despite bowling an economical third over of his spell by just going for six runs, Prasidh Krishna ended up giving away 68 runs in his four overs, going wicketless, at an economy of 17 runs. This is not the first time that he has leaked runs. In this series, he has bowled 12 overs, conceding 159 runs and taking 4 wickets. His costly spell overshadowed the efforts bowling efforts of Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan and Axar Patel who gave runs at an economy of 9 in a high-scoring game.

The series goes 2-1

While India desired to seal the series here, it turns out that Maxwell had other plans on the last day of his long stay in India before he left for his home after a glorious World Cup triumph and two of the best innings of his life. The series is now 2-1, and Australia will try to keep the series open to make it to the decider. However, for that, they would have to play again in the fourth game of the series in Raipur.
