Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi also contributed with two wickets each, restricting Sri Lanka’s batting lineup.
Sri Lanka’s top scorer, Lakvin Abeysinghe, played a resilient knock of 69 runs off 110 balls, but it was not enough to set a formidable target for India. However, Suryavanshi continued to anchor the innings and scored a blistering half-century.
Sri Lanka’s Praveen Maneesha broke the partnership in the 13th over, sending Suryavanshi back to the pavilion. India continued to lose wickets, with C Andre Siddarth falling for 22 runs. However, Mohamed Amaan and KP Karthikeya held their nerve, guiding India to victory in a thrilling chase.
India will now face the winner of the other semi-final in the final of the U-19 Asia Cup 2024.
