Rachin Ravindra is the player of the tournament. “Certainly is bitter-sweet. Was a glorious final. The individual accolades are great and playing for a team is great,” he said. Ravindra ends tournament with most runs at 263 in four innings. His bowling economy rate was 4.66 in 21 overs.

An exceptional innings from Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also earned him the Player of the Match title. To put things in context, India’s white-ball supremacy is undeniable! In their last three ICC tournaments, they have won a staggering 22 out of 23 matches — their only blemish being the heartbreak in the ODI World Cup final. PM Narendra Modi took to X and congratulated the Indian unit on the win. "An exceptional game and an exceptional result! Proud of our cricket team for bringing home the ICC Champions Trophy. They’ve played wonderfully through the tournament. Congratulations to our team for the splendid all around display," PM Modi wrote.

Indian spinners' impressive spell and with it Rohit Sharma's tremendous start of chase has made the Men in Blue champion once again. India defeat New Zealand by four wickets to win its third Champions Trophy title. This final clash was just a game that every cricket fan wants to witness. The never give up attitude of the Kiwis kept the hopes alive but India triumphed.

New Zealand’s fightback began with captain Mitchell Santner applying the brakes before striking the crucial blow to remove Shubman Gill. Now, his job is done — wrapping up an impressive spell of 10-0-46-2. With seven overs remaining, the equation stands at 40 runs needed with five wickets in hand and six overs to go. The finish line is in sight, but New Zealand isn’t making it easy.

Another well-set batter falls short of taking India over the line. With Michael Bracewell into his final over and the equation comfortably under a run a ball, Axar Patel goes for the big shot over extra cover. But he gets too close to the ball, mistimes it, and sends a straightforward catch to long-off. A crucial breakthrough for New Zealand just when they needed one.
