Most Runs in Cricket World Cup 2023: In India’s match against the Netherlands in Bengaluru on Sunday, Virat Kohli claimed the title of the leading run-scorer in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Kohli achieved this feat by notching up a half-century against the Dutch, surpassing South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, who had scored 591 runs in nine innings.
Following his innings of 51 from 56 balls, Kohli’s tournament tally reached 594 runs, with an impressive average of 99. He registered five half-centuries and two centuries. Nonetheless, Kohli narrowly missed the opportunity to become the third Indian batsman to reach the 600-run mark in the World Cup.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma currently holds the fourth position on the list and has exceeded the 500-run milestone for the second consecutive time in a single edition. He previously claimed the title of the leading run-scorer at the 2019 World Cup, amassing a remarkable 648 runs.
Quinton de Kock, who has announced his retirement from the format following the World Cup, stands as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament.
