In some exhilarating news for cricket fans across India, the International Cricket Council (ICC) opened the ticket sales for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup with a base price of Rs 100 on Thursday.
Ticket sales for the upcoming mega ICC event went live today at 6:45 PM, with prices starting at Rs 100 ($1.11) at select venues in India and LKR 1,000 (around Rs 3.26) in Sri Lanka, the ICC said in a press release.
The much anticipated ICC T20 Men’s World Cup is scheduled to begin on February 7th and stretch till March 8, 2026. The 10th edition of one of the most followed cricket tournaments will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka and will see 20 nations competing for the coveted ICC trophy.
How to buy tickets for the T20 World Cup 2026?
ICC has reduced a major entry barrier for the upcoming mega cricket event by keeping Phase I ticket prices low. With prices starting at Rs 100 and LKR 1,000 and more than 2 million tickets available for sale. Tickets for the T20 World Cup 2026 will be available on the official portal: tickets.cricketworldcup.com. Interested fans can follow the following steps to successfully book the tickets.
Step 1: Go to the official ICC ticket portal (only use authorised sites).
Step 2: Log in or register with your email/phone.
Step 3: Choose the match, venue and date you want.
Step 4: Select your seat category (tickets start at ₹100).
Step 5: Enter attendee details and confirm IDs if required.
Step 6: Pay securely via UPI, card or net banking.
Step 7: Download your e-ticket/QR code from email or your ICC account.
“Phase I of ticket sales is an important milestone in our journey towards delivering the most accessible and global ICC event ever staged. Our vision is clear: every fan, regardless of background or financial means, should have the chance to access an in-stadium experience of World class cricket,” ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta said.
ICC T20 World Cup 2026: India schedule
The tournament will open with Pakistan playing the Netherlands in Cambodia. All competing teams have been divided into four groups listed as follows:
Group A: India, USA, Namibia, Netherlands, Pakistan
Group B: Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Oman
Group C: England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Italy, Nepal
Group D: South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada, UAE
Defending champions and co-hosts India will start their defence of the T20 World Cup title at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on the 7th February before taking on Namibia at New Delhi (on Feb 12).
India’s game against Namibia will be followed by their much anticipated battle against Pakistan at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium on February 15. India’s final group game against Netherlands will take place on 18th February at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
