The stage for the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is set, where the hosts India will take on the five-time crowned champions Australia on Sunday, November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. To scale up the atmosphere at the largest cricket stadium in the world, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force has confirmed that it will present an air show ahead of the World Cup final.

The team dropped a small teaser on X (formerly Twitter), posting, “Guess What …!!”

The largest cricket stadium in the world will be houseful, with tickets on the BookMyShow platform reflecting sold out since the hosts are on the verge of lifting their third title. Formed in 1996, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic team is a part of the 52nd Squadron of the Indian Air Force. The team uses Hawk Mk-132 aircraft. The practice for the display will be on Friday and Saturday.

There are speculations that Prime Minister Modi will be present to witness the game live in Ahmedabad. It would be interesting to see if the Prime Minister invites his friend and the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to watch the final.

Australia defeated South Africa in the second semifinal played in the Eden Gardens at Kolkata on Thursday. Bowling first, Australia restricted South Africa to a below-par total of 212, credit to a fighting effort from David Miller with the bat scoring 101 runs off 116 balls, in the rain-interrupted game. While chasing, Australia headed off with a flyer, but tight bowling in the middle overs by South Africa slowed down things for them.

The total was never beyond the reach of Australia, and despite seven down, they sailed over the mark to reserve their spot in their eighth World Cup final.
