As India stormed into the World Cup 2023 finals, many celebrated the iconic win against New Zealand with firecrackers and good food. Some took the digital route and showed their love for ‘Men in Blue’ on social media platforms, X and Instagram. But, Mumbai Police stole the show with its witty banter with the Delhi Police.
It all started with Delhi Police’s post – “.@MumbaiPolice hope you do not book @MdShami11 for the tonight’s assault.” In its own cool way, Mumbai Police took their happiness on X and replied, “You missed pressing charges of stealing innumerable hearts @DelhiPolice and listing a couple of co-accused too.” They also tagged Delhi Police to the post and a laughing emoji to lighten the mood.
The tweet also cleared that it is a joke and should not be taken seriously as it adds, “P.S.: Dear citizens, both the departments know the IPC thoroughly and trust you for a great sense of humour.”
The fun conversation went viral among the X users as many people applauded their quirky and witty ray of tweets. One user commented on the tweet saying, “Both the departments have shown good gestures for us ⭐✨ and great compliments in their ways.” While others also salute for presenting a ‘human face’ to the profile.
On Wednesday, November 15, India made the entry to the World Cup finals with Mohammad Shami taking 7 wickets alone. The cricketer had the best-ever wicket haul by an Indian bowler in the history of the 50-over World Cup. Shami now has four 5-wicket hauls in CWC history, which is the most by any bowler.
The day was remarkable for other reasons also as Virat Kohli (713) also broke the record for most runs scored in a single World Cup edition, surpassing the famous Tendulkar (623 runs in 2003).
