Carlos Alcaraz, the ace Spanish tennis player, defeated Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) on Sunday at the centre court in London to win his second straight Wimbledon championship. The Spaniard is only the sixth person in history to win Wimbledon and the French Open consecutively.

The Spanish tennis player defeated the Serbian 6-2 in the first set after getting off to a strong start and taking control of the contest. Alcaraz won the first set with a double break and finished it in 41 minutes, making it one-sided. Alcaraz won the second set 6-2, maintaining his momentum. Djokovic was having trouble in the second set and was unable to gain the upper hand.

In the third set, the Serbian tennis player attempted to rally, but Alcaraz hung tough. In the third set, Djokovic got off to a strong start and fought hard against his rival, but the Spaniard fought hard and forced a tiebreak. Alcaraz prevailed 7–4 in the tiebreak by maintaining his composure.

The Wimbledon 2024 final was won by the Spaniard in three sets as he controlled the match from the outset.

In the semi-final, Alcaraz faced Daniil Medvedev, who was ranked fourth. The Spaniard lost the opening set, but he rallied to win 6-7, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4. To qualify for the summit match, second-seeded Novak Djokovic defeated Lorenzo Musetti of Italy in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6, 6-4.

Last year, Alcaraz and Djokovic engaged in the third-longest Wimbledon final in history, a four-hour and forty-two-minute marathon match at the Centre Court. After an exciting match, Alcaraz won his second Grand Slam title, ending the Serbian’s quest for a fifth consecutive Wimbledon victory.

Last month, Carlos Alcaraz, ranked third in the ATP tennis rankings, defeated Alexander Zverev in the French Open men’s singles final to win the title.
