The Indian men’s hockey team has secured its place in the finals of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024 after a decisive 4-1 victory over South Korea. The match, held in Moqi, China, showcased India’s dominance as they moved closer to defending their title.

Early Advantage

India took an early lead with goals from Uttam Singh and captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who each contributed to a 2-0 advantage at halftime. Singh opened the scoring, while Kaur doubled the lead with a precise shot.

Jarmanpreet Singh increased India’s lead in the third quarter, converting a pass from Sumit into a goal. Despite a penalty corner goal from South Korea’s Yang Jihun, India maintained control. Harmanpreet Kaur completed his brace with another penalty corner goal, cementing India’s 4-1 win.

India, the defending champions and the only unbeaten team in the tournament, will face China in the final. China advanced by defeating Pakistan in the other semifinal.
