Indian roller skaters delivered a remarkable performance at the Asian Games, clinching two bronze medals in the men’s and women’s 3000m team relay events. This achievement matched their best-ever performance in this prestigious sporting event.
Indian Women roller skater team’s victory at the Asian Games
In the women’s division, the Indian team, composed of Sanjana Bathula, Karthika Jagadeeswaran, Heeral Sadhu, and Aarathy Kasturi Raj, made a strong start, securing India’s first medal of the day with a time of 4 minutes and 34.861 seconds.
Although they put up an impressive performance, they finished behind the gold medalists, Chinese Taipei, who completed the race in 4 minutes and 19.447 seconds, and South Korea, who finished in 4 minutes and 21.146 seconds.
Indian Men roller skater team’s victory at the Asian Games
The men’s team relay continued India’s medal-winning streak, with Aryanpal Singh Ghuman, Anandkumar Velkumar, Siddhant Kamble, and Vikram Ingale securing a second bronze medal for India.
They completed the race in 4 minutes and 10.128 seconds. The top two spots in the men’s team relay were claimed by Chinese Taipei with a time of 4 minutes and 5.692 seconds and South Korea with 4 minutes and 5.702 seconds.
This impressive performance by Indian roller skaters at the Asian Games is reminiscent of their success at the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games, where they won two bronze medals in the men’s free skating and pairs skating events.
