MSMEs have been central to India’s growth story. Their contribution to the country’s growth, job creation and exports holds tremendous significance. Cognizant of their role, Reliance General Insurance (RGI) has been focusing on MSMEs to help them survive and scale amid different vagaries of business.
To recognise the valor and persistence of MSME entrepreneurs and enable a knowledge-sharing platform, RGI in partnership with FinancialExpress.com is back with its #WithYouForYou (#WYFY) MSME initiative this MSME Day (June 27) from last year. The initiative, a three-webinar series, brings together leading experts and entrepreneurs in the MSME sector to discuss pressing topics around growth.
#WithYouForYou (#WYFY) MSME Season 2 will be aired on the YouTube channel and Facebook page of The Financial Express on June 27. Here’s what you can expect from the three highly engaging and detailed conversations to help you scale your business:
Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Overcoming Barriers in Women Entrepreneurship
The first webinar ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Overcoming Barriers in Women Entrepreneurship’ scheduled for 01:00 pm on June 27 will answer the all-pervasive question on the lack of women entrepreneurs impacting the overall growth of the MSME sector.
Even as the government continues to take measures to enhance the participation of women-owned MSMEs, the challenges around cultural norms, societal expectations, alleged gender bias, etc., continue to hinder the growth of women entrepreneurs.
Sharing their views on the subject in the first webinar would be Sonal Jaitly, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) practice, Microsave Consulting (MSC) & Executive Committee Member, Women Entrepreneurship Platform, Niti Aayog; Usha Jain, Executive Vice President, Coastal Insurance Brokers; Radhika Shah, CEO and Director, AARVI Insurance Brokers; and Kanika Popat, CEO, Principal Officer and Director, Shift Risk Insurance Brokers.
Money, Market, Macroeconomics: Prepping for Transformational Growth of MSMEs
The second webinar ‘Money, Market, Macroeconomics: Prepping for Transformational Growth of MSMEs’ would offer the latest insights into the quintessential issues of MSMEs: access to credit, easy regulatory environment, compliance burden, market expansion and more.
This would include discussion on how formalization of the MSME sector is for the greater good of the country, specific regulatory and compliance measures that need to be looked at for enhancing ease of doing business, easing last mile credit, the impact of existing support from the government’s schemes and changes required, and more.
Sharing their views on the topic would be panelists Sandeep Kishore Jain, President, FISME & Managing Director, SOLO Components; Ashish Jhamb, Director and Chief Operating Officer, Infina Insurance Brokers; Amit Goel, Director and Principal Officer, Raghnall Insurance Broking & Risk Management; and Shalabh Srivastava, Director, PoliciCue Insurance Brokers.
The second webinar is scheduled for 03:00 pm on June 27.
Survive and Thrive: How Insurance Can Help MSMEs Ride India’s Growth Wave
The third webinar ‘Survive and Thrive: How Insurance Can Help MSMEs Ride India’s Growth Wave’ will discuss the myriad challenges involved in taking insurance penetration deeper into the MSME ecosystem. The webinar will be aired on June 27 at 05:00 pm.
How MSMEs should conduct a risk assessment to determine appropriate coverage in business, what are the types of risks in business, what could be the strategies for managing and reducing insurance costs, how to negotiate favorable terms and conditions with insurance providers, and more would be answered during the webinar.
It would also be interesting to understand the perspective of insurance companies, their challenge in accessing the right MSMEs as a number of them are not registered or informal in nature, how to tap into the larger MSME base, etc.
The panelists for the third webinar would be Suman Chowdhury, Executive Director, Head – Research & Chief Economist, Acuité Ratings & Research, Juzer Jawadwala, Director, Xperitus Insurance Brokers; Sanjeev Gujral, Founder and CEO, Goodx Insurance Brokers; and Megha Maharana, Business Head-Commercial Lines, Policybazaar for Business.
