PUBG Lite registrations have gone live in India: The demand for thousands of PUBG players across India has finally been answered. Tencent has decided to launch PUBG Lite in the country in a bid to tap into a larger section of gamers who do not have access to the hi-end gaming platforms.
Last year, the beta version of PUBG lite was launched in a few South Asian nations. Even though PUBG on PC is yet to take off in India, to make it more accessible, PUBG Lite registration has been opened in India along with all the other SAARC countries – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The registration was opened on June 20 and will continue till July 3.
Unlike the PUBG on PC, PUBG Lite will be free to play. The new players who are interested in trying out the game will be able to open an account on PUBG Lite for free at the game’s official website lite.pubg.com. The existing players will be able to login with their existing credentials. After logging in, the player will have to link their Xbox, PS4 or Steam accounts with their PUBG account by clicking on the ‘Participate in Event’ button. There will be special in-game rewards for participating as well.
Right after registration, the players will get a Cheetah parachute and a Tiger M46 tank, and once the number of beta registration crosses 100k, the users will be gifted with Bloody combat pants, Black scarf, and punk glasses. If the number of registration crosses 200k mark, players will be gifted with Red Sports top, Gold scarf, and Striped long-sleeve shirt.
The beta version will be made available to the players who get themselves registered, and a download link will be sent to them via e-mail.
However, the launch of a similar watered down version of PUBG mobile in India has not yet been confirmed by the company yet. PUBG mobile has been dominating the mobile gaming scenario in India for over a year now. Since it’s launch, it has been rising in popularity and has overtaken games like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale.
To run PUBG Lite on PC, a user will at least need an Intel Core i3 processor, 2.4GHz processor, with 4GB RAM and 4GB storage. Though Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 and AMD Radeon HD7870 graphics card are recommended for smooth performance, Intel HD Graphics 4000 would also work.
