Poco Pods, Poco’s maiden truly wireless earbuds have been a long time coming. First teased back in 2020, they have been three years in the making,
-
Poco Pods have a sleek and minimal design and come in Poco’s signature yellow (and black) hues.
-
The charging case is pill-shaped and has a glossy black strip running across its entire length. The rest of body has a matte finish.
-
Poco Pods are made entirely out of plastic.
-
The earbuds have an Apple AirPods-like styling with in-ear design and long stem that houses touch sensors.
-
Each earbud is IPX4 rated which is to say it is resistant to splashes.
-
You can double tap to play or pause music and answer a phone call, tap three times to skip a track and reject or end a call, and long press to invoke a 60ms low-latency mode. The earbuds pack 12mm drivers and support Environmental Noise Cancellation.
-
They pair over Bluetooth 5.3 and top out at SBC codec. Google’s fast pair tech is supported.
-
Poco Pods are rated to deliver a combined battery life (including case) of up to 30 hours while the earbuds on their own can last for up to 5 hours on single charge. Fast charging over USB Type-C is available.
-
Poco has launched the Poco Pods in India at an introductory price of Rs 1,199 which seems fairly aggressive for the feature set you’re getting. These wireless earbuds don’t necessarily reinvent the wheel but they do offer a viable option for cash-strapped buyers looking for a no-frills audio experience for cheap. The OnePlus Nord Buds 2r and Redmi Buds 4 Active are other alternatives in and around this price.
