The 2025 Emmy nominations showcased a strong display from streaming platforms, with Apple TV+’s Severance emerging as the lead by receiving 27 nominations. The critically acclaimed thriller based on a workplace has been recognised for its direction, acting, and writing.
Apple’s ironic comedy The Studio is in the second slot with 23 nominations and has also been recorded for gaining the most nods for a comedy in a single season. Seth Rogen has garnered several nominations for his role as director, writer, and actor.
Other top competitors are HBO’s The Penguin, which collected 24 nominations, The White Lotus, which has received 23, and Netflix’s Adolescence with 13. A standout performance by teenage actor Owen Cooper has also been praised in the series.
HBO is leading the pack with 142 total nominations, Netflix has 120, and Apple TV+ has 79. The Emmy Awards are slated to take place on September 14 in Los Angeles and will be telecast live on CBS. -
