Kabali collection: Rajinikanth has done very well for himself, and the industry at large, with his newest release. When the various marketing deals were being struck, no one had any idea whether they will be able to recover their money. Rajinikanth and the filmmakers too were on tenterhooks about the fate of their movie. Now, that the megastar has upended box office collections history, everyone involved with the movie is already rushing to ink a deal for the next one before it is snapped up by rivals. The rush is on for teh upcoming Enthiran 2.0, in which Akshay Kumar too has a standout role. Kabali has been in theatres now for 11 days and is still going relatively strong.

Kabali collection: On the whole, even as Kabali collections are slowing down fast, they have reached a level that even small additions are taking them ever higher and out of the reach of those who will look to challenge the southern superstar and grab the number 1 position from him. As far as the northern Indian market, especially the one controlled by Bollywood, is concerned, the fact that Rajinikanth was able to race to such a huge triumph even though the actual contribution of this northern market was restricted to just over Rs 40 cr, has come as a big surprise to those in the industry there. The rest of the earnings by Kabali came from various other sources including southern India and most surprisingly from the international markets.

Kabali collection: There is no doubt that Rajinikanth's fandom comprises a huge international base. While that also includes Japan, yet it is basically composed of Indian immigrants in South East Asia, South Africa and North America. And the reason for that is that Rajinikanth gives them an opportunity to identify with India and its young population's modern aspiratons that the superstar is able to so skillfully portray – at least in Kabali.

Kabali collection: Coming to the Kabali box office collections figures, the latest data shows that the film has earned Rs 211 crore from the Indian market. This is one of the very few south Indian movies to got entry into this exclusive club. In fact, very few Bollywood movies have been able to crack the Rs 200 cr conundrum. Success for a movie is defined by the Rs 100 crore club even now although the new analysts have said that the Rs 200 cr club is the new Rs 100 crore one – they say this mainly on the consideration that the crowds have increased manifold and and films need to achieve a bigger number in order to be rated as unqualified successes.

Kabali collection: The movie's box office collections in the international markets too are slowing down from the miraculous numbers that it was generating at one time. But with such a high number already under its belt, any small change goes a long way in boosting the overall score. So, we have seen Kabali collections in foreign markets rise as high as Rs 259 crore. Adding them all together (along with the marketing deals to provide a worldwide overall total) gives us a Rs 670 cr figure. The question now on every fan's mind is whether Rajinikanth will be able to reach the Rs 700 crore figure. Miracles have happened before, no?
