CCTV footage shows AAI men attacking CISF personnel in airport: A day after CCTV visuals emerged of CISF personnel on the rampage at Karipur airport in Kozhikode, fresh footage of the episode has appeared in which a group of alleged Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials in plainclothes are seen attacking a CISF jawan. As per the visuals aired by television channels this morning, a CISF jawan was surrounded and beaten up by a group of AAI officials following an altercation between him and an airport official over frisking. After resisting the attackers for a few seconds, the jawan is seen fleeing the area with the irate AAI staff giving chase. Within seconds, the AAI staff are seen running away from the area and rushing inside the airport building, having apparently witnessed something to scare them away – perhaps the gunshot that claimed the life of a CRPF jawan. Arvind Kejriwal 'upset'; AAP mulls sacking Jitendra Singh Tomar: With its image taking a severe beating, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is contemplating to sack Jitender Singh Tomar as Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is understood to be very "upset" over the entire fracas involving the former's allegedly fake academic degrees. Two senior party leaders indicated that the former Delhi Law Minister could face expulsion from AAP as there was a feeling in the top echelons that he had "misled" them on the issue. "Arvind (Kejriwal) is very upset. He (Tomar) was given a fair opportunity. He produced certain documents and RTIs and tried convincing everybody. But then you cannot keep lying," the leader added. Party sources said when the issue of his graduation degree cropped up, AAP also found out that the matter was a bit "fishy". Tomar, MLA from Delhi's Trinagar constituency and a first-time minister, was remanded in four-day police custody by a Delhi court on Tuesday. (PTI) (12/06/2015)
Indian Ocean warming has weakened monsoon in parts of India

Rapid warming of the Indian Ocean in the past century has led to a significant decrease in summer monsoon rainfall over the central-east and northern regions of India, a new study led by an Indian scientist said today. An international team of researchers led by Dr Roxy Mathew Koll, from the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, found that the summer monsoon rainfall during 1901-2012 showed a weakening trend over parts of South Asia. The reduction in rainfall was significant over the central-east and northern regions of India, along the Ganges-Brahmaputra basins and the Himalayan foothills. In the study published today in the journal Nature Communications, the researchers reported that the reduction in summer rainfall over central-east India during the past century is about 10 to 20 per cent. ‘How about PM Narendra Modi taking a selfie with garbage in background', says Congress: The Congress Party on Friday criticised the NDA Government for Delhi’s worsening sanitation crisis, and suggested it was a ‘selfie government’ in power that was failing to deliver on its promises. Congress leader Tom Vadakkan asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a ‘selfie’ with piled up garbage in the background. “How about PM take a selfie with garbage in the background? This is a selfie government. They have only made fake promises,” he said. “I appeal to Governor that it doesn’t matter who is more powerful, main issue is that people are suffering. Chief Minister needs to stop fighting. 15,000 tonnes of garbage is lying around in Delhi and AAP is making the people suffer,” he added. (PTI) (12/06/2015)
