<br>Sukhoi fighter plane crashes in Assam, occupants eject safely</br> A Sukhoi-30 aircraft, India's front line fighter plane, crashed at Laokhowa in Nagaon district of Assam following a technical snag but both the pilot and weapons systems operator ejected safely. This is the sixth crash of the aircraft, manufactured here under licence from Russia, since 2009. The incident happened at about 12:30 PM, 36 kms away from Tezpur. The SU-30 aircraft had taken off from Air Force Station Tezpur on a routine mission at 12:17. "After take off, the aircraft had developed a technical snag and the pilot was forced to abandon the aircraft. Both the pilots ejected," the IAF said in a statement. The ejection was safe and the aircraft crashed at 1230 hours in a thick forest near Tezpur. Justice Vijay Bishnoi, before whom the petition was listed, said the case should be "put up before another bench", said Salman Khan's counsel H M Saraswat. Salman Khan moved the High Court after rejection of his petitions to call 5 prosecution witnesses of the case including the then District Magistrate Rajat Kumar Mishra and the Investigating Officer (ASP) Ashok Patni, first in trial court and then in the session court on May 14. (PTI) (19/05/2015) <br>Dust storm, drizzle cool Delhi</br> A strong dust storm coupled with a light drizzle this afternoon cooled the temperature and brought welcome relief in the national capital where residents have been reeling under a run of sweltering weather. "An 80-km per hour wind started at 4.15 P.M. and brought with it a lot of dust. Visibility dropped to 500 metres at Indira Gandhi International Airport," said Rajendra Jenamani, India Meteorological Department director (IGIA). According to him, the dust storm was an outcome of the extremely hot conditions yesterday which had pushed the mercury up to 43 degrees Celsius. "When it gets too hot, a vacuum is created which results in a strong wind blowing in. Such strong winds that blow in dust are normal in northwestern India," he said. The city also witnessed light drizzles which cooled the temperature. Aruna Shanbaug, a nurse at the hospital, existed comatose in the room since being subjected to a brutal sexual assault in 1973 by a ward boy, who tried to throttle her with a dog's chain, leaving her in a permanently vegetative state. Aruna Shanbaug, 66, who passed away yesterday, had become the face of a debate on euthanasia in India. The Supreme Court had, on a petition seeking mercy killing for Aruna Shanbaug, allowed 'passive euthanasia' wherein life support to a patient in permanently vegetative state could be withdrawn. Despite the court's verdict, the nurses had decided to carry on with their epic fight. "One thousand such yoga gymnasia will be established this year in Haryana," he said, after inaugurating a newly established Patanjali Dispensary-cum-Service Centre in zila parishad complex at Narnaul yesterday.
