<br>Term 'black money' racist, say some members of Parliament:</br> The term 'black money' is racist and should be changed, according to members of bitter rivals Trinamool Congress and CPI(M) who raised the issue in Rajya Sabha today. Participating in a discussion on the Black Money (Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets) and Imposition of Tax Bill, 2015, Derek O'Brien (TMC) stressed that the term black money should be changed as "dirty money". Tracing the history of coining the term 'black money' to Europe several centuries ago, he said, money that appeared in black as it was mixed with copper while minting was called as black money. CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury also underscored that the term black money was "racist" and it should be replaced with some other term. (Reuters) (13/05/2015) <br>47 Shia Ismailis killed in Pakistan bus massacre:</br> In a brazen assault, gunmen donning police uniforms attacked a bus carrying Shia Ismaili community members and shot the passengers in the head, killing at least 47 people in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, the latest in a series of terror attacks targeting minorities. Police officials said it appeared that six to eight assailants on motorbikes first opened fire on the bus just near the Dow Medical College and then entered the bus when it stopped at Safoora Chorangi, Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi. "It was a targeted attack," Sindh Police Inspector General Ghulam Haider Jamali told reporters. The attackers killed 47 people and wounded more than 20 others before fleeing from the scene. The death toll could further rise as some persons are seriously injured. The injured and dead were shifted to various hospitals by rescue workers. (AP) (13/05/2015) -

The petition was filed by NGO 'Rashtriya Mukti Morcha', seeking direction to Ministry of Home Affairs, Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to restrain the 21 Delhi Legislative Members from acting as Parliamentary Secretary (PS) till the "final adjudication" of the plea. The public interest litigation (PIL) sought quashing of Kejriwal's March 13 decision, saying the Chief Minister issued "unconstitutional and illegal order appointing 21 MLAs as PS in gross violation of the constitutional provisions. "Under the pressure of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal or Law Minister Tomar, I dont know what type of pressure it is, we had been demonstrating on the matter for 12 days but police have taken no action despite a statutory body (Bar Council) writing against him (Tomar)," he said. The Delhi Police Commissioner also batted for policemen to carry "recording devices" to make sure that their interactions with the public are saved on audio tape or camera and said that the aim at the training level was to nurture in the personnel an ability to stay calm. "We will need systemic changes to see that even under pressure, our officers act as per the law. No matter what the situation is, they must behave with courtesy and not lose their temper. "As far as training of our officers is concerned, our objective is to see that our officers must not react out of rage," Bassi told reporters here today. This is a sixth case of attack on a witness in rape cases against Asaram and his son Narayan Sai. The incident occurred in Sanauli village in Panipat district where the victim, Mahendra Chawla, was attacked. A woman had accused Narayan of repeated sexual assault between 2002 and 2005 when she was living at his Surat ashram. He was booked under various sections of IPC including rape and unnatural sex. In February, a prosecution witness was stabbed by a man, while another was shot dead in Uttar Pradesh in January. Three more persons in the Surat case have survived attacks.
