India vs England: Karun Nair has made history and swept himself into the exclusive 300-run club and Virender Sehwag, who was, till today, the only other Indian batsman to score a triple century in Tests, 2 actually, no longer will be 'lonely' as the Nawab of Najafgarh himself said in his congratulatory message to Karun Nair. Karun's 303 not out ensured India batted itself into a winning position against England in the Chennai Test – India scored 759/7 declared. The cherry on top may well be that India bowls England out tomorrow, the last day of the Test. Nair brought up his triple ton by hitting his 32nd 4 and then raised his bat in triumph even as Virat Kohli, Team India and the entire stadium gave him a standing ovation – he scored four 6s. This is Nair's 3rd Test and the great thing is that he scored his first ton in morning, went above 200 post-tea and his 300 thereafter. Nair had the butter-fingered English fielders to thank too. He was dropped on 34, and then the slip cordon let an easy catch run to the boundary and then an awkward bouncer almost saw him fall short. But he persevered through it all to emerge triumphant and humiliate England totally. Check out the majestic photos: (PTI)
