In a tragic incident at the New Delhi Railway Station more than a dozen lives were lost due to a stampede. At platform no. 14 due to a large crowd gathered awaiting the Prayagraj Express. The crowd soon became uncontrollable as huge groups thronged from platforms 12 and 13. As per DCP Railways, more than 1,500 general tickets were sold every hour which is suspected as the reason behind the incident. Prompt action was taken as the Delhi Police and the security personnel rushed to manage the crowd.
