Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of strong supply chains for maintaining economic stability and also reaffirmed commitment to increase investment in semiconductor industry. Speaking at the SEMICOM 2024 in New Delhi, PM Modi underlined the essential role of semiconductors in almost all electronic gadgets, be it from electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, and smartphones. The Prime Minister also stated, ”It’s our dream to have an India-made chip in every device in the world.” He also further mentioned that India is strengthening its supply networks across the sectors. An investment of Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been made for semiconductor manufacturing, the PM revealed.
