The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 is scheduled for April 26 (Friday). Spread across 13 states and union territories, the phase will witness voting in 89 constituencies. The general election commenced on April 19. 109 constituencies participated in the first phase.
Lok Sabha elections are being held between 19 April and 1 June 2024 in seven phases, to elect 543 members of the Lok Sabha. On 4 June 2024, the votes will be counted, and the results will be announced.
In history, this is the largest-ever election. It surpassed the 2019 Indian general poll. The polls will last 44 days, second only to the 1951–52 national elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is running for a third consecutive term.
Around 970 million people out of a population of 1.4 billion are qualified to vote.
