BankBazaar in hiring mode; to increase headcount by 50%</br> Online financial marketplace BankBazaar aims to expand its workforce to over 1,250 people by March 2016 in a bid to strengthen its business. "We are doubling our workforce annually, and are in a hiring drive. We will add up to 400 more people by March 2016," BankBazaar CEO Adhil Shetty told PTI. The company currently has over 850 employees, with 62 per cent males and 38 per cent females, he added.

2. $95 bn spend on Indian Railways over 5 yrs likely</br> India is expected to spend a whopping USD 95 billion (over Rs 6.34 lakh crore) on ramping up its rail infrastructure, a step that will help in increasing the country's manufacturing competitiveness, a report says. The Indian Railways suffered in the past due to "underinvestment and poor policies", said foreign broking firm Morgan Stanley's research arm in its recent report. Morgan Stanley Research's Industrial Analyst Akshay Soni, who authored the report, believes that the "historical lack of delivery in the Railways creates scepticism, but this time could be different". Patanjali to invest Rs 1,000 cr on expansion: Ramdev </br> Patanjali Ayurved, the FMCG venture promoted by yoga guru Baba Ramdev, will invest Rs 1,000 crore next year on expansion and plans to sharpen focus on e-commerce and exports. The Haridwar-based firm will set up manufacturing plants in South India and is looking to become partner in mega food park being developed in southern cities. Patanjali, which has 15,000 stores across the country, plans to add more products in segments where it already has presence such as dairy, instant foods, baby care, natural cosmetics and health supplements.

Festivals galore, cos press the pedal on temp hiring </br> This festive season may spell good times for job-seekers since hiring is set to see a sharp 50 per cent jump as some 1 lakh temporary jobs may be created in the organised sector alone in October-December, say experts. While India celebrates festivals throughout the year, the last few months are especially heavy, starting with Dussehra and culminating in Diwali, Christmas and the New Year. "This festive season, staffing jobs are set to see the boom by 50 per cent with e-commerce players, brick-and-mortar retailers, consumer durables and FMCG marketers gearing up for an all-out battle to woo consumers," Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) President Rituparna Chakraborty said. France, India to launch global solar alliance </br> French President Francois Hollande and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Monday launch an international solar alliance aimed at eventually bringing clean and affordable solar energy within the reach of all. The launch will coincide with a summit of world leaders at the start of two weeks of talks on the outskirts of Paris to seek a new global deal on curbing climate change, by shifting from fossil fuels towards renewable energy. An Indian government statement on Sunday said there were well over 100 solar-rich countries in the tropics that could be members of the International Solar Alliance to develop clean and affordable solar energy. Tens of billions promised to goose clean energy tech</br> Government and business leaders plan to spend tens of billions of dollars in the next five years to develop clean energy technology in efforts to fight global warming, an official and a former official have said. 8. SpiceJet plans more flights from Dubai </br> SpiceJet on Sunday said it would operate more number of flights from here to various Indian cities. Celebrating UAE's 44th National Day, the low cost carrier has announced special one-way ticket offers for its flights from Dubai, starting from base fare of AED 244 (over Rs 4,400).
