Rail Budget 2016: Railway-related stocks companies were in the limelight on Wednesday ahead of the rail budget to be presented on Thursday. The Railway Budget is expected to focus on massive capacity creation in the rail sector with an increased outlay of about Rs 1.25 lakh crore. A significant amount will be earmarked for safety upgradation, electrification, doubling and modernisation of yards to clear traffic bottlenecks, sources in the railways said. Industry body Assocham has also asked Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu togo in for a hike in the passenger fares, saying they have been kept low at the cost of freight traffic.
