Indian equity benchmarks opened Wednesday’s trading session on a flat footing. The Sensex opened at 81,594.50, up 0.32%, while the Nifty began the day at 24,890.40, also registering a 0.28% early gains. Meanwhile, the Nifty Bank index mirrored the broader market mood, opening positively at 56,310.10, up by 0.16%.
“Caution is likely to dominate sentiment at Dalal Street despite Tuesday’s rebound, as markets await the FOMC outcome. Nifty bulls remain on the back foot below the 25,100 hurdle. Intraday optimism may fade due to six negative cues: overbought technical conditions, heavy profit booking, FII net selling of Rs. 41,006 crore in July, muted Q1FY26 earnings, uncertainty over US-India tariff talks, and fading hopes of a rate cut. Key support levels are seen at 24,473 for Nifty and 55,200 for Bank Nifty, with major strength confirmed only above 25,421,” said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities.
