The global markets are trading on a lower note. The GIFT Nifty is trading 22 points, or 0.08%, lower at 25,909. Here are domestic as well as key global cues to watch before the market opens that include crude oil prices, FII and DII data, business groups that most affect, sectoral performance, etc.

Earlier on Tuesday, the NSE Nifty 50 closed the session 121 points or 0.47% lower at 25,840, while the BSE Sensex fell 436 points or 0.51% to close at 84,666.

Key global and domestic cues to know on December 10, 2025

Asia Markets

The Asian markets opened lower on Wednesday morning, following Wall Street, and awaiting the Fed’s decision on a rate cut. Japan’s Nikkei 225 was down 0.38% while the broad-based Topix was flat. South Korea’s Kospi slipped 0.12%, but the small-cap Kosdaq was 0.21% higher. Hong Kong Hang Seng index was yet to start the trade; however, it closed Tuesday’s trade 1.30% lower. 

US markets

The US stock market indices closed Tuesday’s session on a lower note ahead of the interest rate decision from the Federal Reserve. The S&P 500 index slipped 0.09% to close at 6,840.51, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.13% to end the day at 23,576.49. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 179.03 points, or 0.38%, to finish at 47,560.29.

US Fed’s rate cut decision

The Federal Reserve is all set to deliver its third straight interest rate cut on Wednesday, however, suggesting that there’s no room for another one. Policymakers are set to meet on December 9–10 amid a complicated economic backdrop. US inflation is still above the Fed’s 2% target, even as hiring weakens and unemployment rises.

US dollar 

The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was trading 0.03% lower at 99.21 on Wednesday morning. The index evaluates the strength or weakness of the US dollar in comparison to major currencies. The basket contains currencies such as the British Pound, Euro, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, etc. The rupee appreciated 0.23% to close at 89.88 to the dollar on December 09.

Crude oil

The crude oil prices traded on a higher note on Wednesday morning. WTI crude prices were trading at $58.39, while Brent crude prices were trading at $62.08, a rise of 0.23%. 

FII, DII data

Foreign institutional investors (FII) were the net sellers of shares worth Rs 3,760.08 crore. On the other hand, the Domestic institutional investors (DII) were the net buyers of shares worth Rs 6,224.89 crore on December 09, 2025, according to the provisional data available on the NSE.

Gold rate today 

The rate for 24-carat gold today is Rs 1,30,070 per 10 grams, near its all-time high. The price of gold has surged by 0.19% from yesterday. The 24 kt gold rate today in Delhi is Rs 1,29,840 per 10 grams. The 18-carat gold price today in India is Rs 97,552.5.
