Xiaomi will launch its new phone –Redmi Note 5A— on August 21. The Chinese smartphone will be unveiled in Beijing at 7.30 pm, which is around 5.00 pm, Indian Standard Time. Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun had posted exclusive pictures of the Redmi Note 5A on his official Weibo account. Interestingly, the Xiaomi’s new phone launch comes on the same day when Google will reveal its new Android O. The phone will come in two segments —Redmi Note 5A Pro and Redmi Note 5A Prime. Pro will include a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel while in Prime the feature will be missing. The phones may come with three colour options — gray, rose gold and gold.
A Chinese website, TENAA, has also listed some features of the smartphone. The website claims, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A may have a 5.5-inch HD display, and will be powered by Snapdragon 425 processor. The phone will come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, as per NDTV. It will have a single 13-megapixel rear camera, while the front camera will remain at 5MP. Redmi Note 5A will likely run MIUI9 with Android 7.1 Nougat on top. The memory of the smartphone will expandable up to 128GB. According to TENAA, the handset will measure 153.3×76.3×7.31mm and the weight will be around 150 grams.

Xiaomi is likely to announce this phone only in the Chinese market as of now, however, the company will bring the device to India in the coming months. According to India Today, there are speculations that Redmi Note 5A Prime and Pro will come with full metal design. Right below the display of the phones, there will be three capacitive keys. The physical keys of both the phones will reportedly be placed on the right side of the device, as per India Today report.
