Google has launched “Gemini for Government”, exclusively for the US government federal employees in partnership with the US General Services Administration (USGSA) under OneGov agreement to provide a suite of AI and cloud services that will accelerate the adoption of AI across government. An official release of the USGSA said this is part of the US government’s ‘America’s AI Action Plan’.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai made the announcement in a post on X and said, “Building on our @GoogleWorkspace offer for federal employees, we’re proud to partner with the @USGSA to launch Gemini for Government.”

What does ‘Gemini for Government’ include?
Google’s ‘Gemini for Government’ brings together the best of Google’s AI-optimized and accredited commercial cloud, industry-leading Gemini models, it said. This will have Google-quality enterprise search, video and image generation capabilities, the popular NotebookLM AI tool, out-of-the-box AI agents for Deep Research and Idea Generation, and the ability for employees to create their own AI agents.
The service will be priced at less than $0.50 per government agency for a year. Google said this will let the US government employees to access a leading AI offerings at very little cost.
“GSA appreciates Google’s partnership and we’re excited to add the comprehensive ‘Gemini for Government’ AI solution to OneGov,” said Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum.
It added that the GSA is delivering on the US president’s AI Action Plan and helping agencies access powerful American AI tools to optimise daily workflows and create a more efficient, responsive, and effective government for American taxpayers.
Three pillars of the programme
Google said the ‘Gemini for Government’ has FedRAMP High-authorised security and compliance features, with a seamlessly integrated solution designed from the ground up for AI, and is built upon three pillars:
- An enterprise platform with choice and control
- Super-powered security, built-in
- A true transformation partner
The GSA said the offering by Google is valid through 2026, which has been built upon the previous agreement with Google to provide “Google Workspace to all federal agencies at a 71% price reduction, further expanding on GSA’s partnership with Google.”
