So, the big moment has arrived and Google has finally launched the much-awaited new version of Android which will be officially called Oreo. Sounds exciting, right? But, what is the first thing that you will do once you get the update? Don’t be surprised if you end up staring at the screen for the first 30 minutes without knowing what do to. Even though there was so much hype around this new update, a lot of people are actually not aware of the Oreo features. Well, we have got you covered on that part. Here are 5 things you must do as soon as you get the new update to make the best use of its features:
1. Notification Snoozing
This Android O feature will make sure that you don’t have to deal with all the notifications immediately. You can slide it slightly to the left or right and tap the clock icon that appears at its edge. It will reappear new and grab your attention at the designated time.
2. Try picture-in-picture mode
By far the most exciting feature of Android Oreo. You can play a YouTube video and go back to the home screen. The video will come down like a little floating box that you can position anywhere on your screen while you surf the web, tweet your thoughts or do whatever else your precious little heart desires.

3. Activate Android 8.0’s Smart Wi-Fi setting
To do this, you will have to open the Network & Internet section of your system settings. Then tap the line labeled “Wi-Fi”. Then, tap “Wi-Fi preferences” on the next screen and then activate the toggle next to “Turn on Wi-Fi automatically.” This will connect you to the WiFi every time you are close to a previously connected network.
4. Check out Oreo’s expanded native file manager
All the Android users must be familiar with the file managers but Oreo takes it to the next level. It has a newly enhanced file manager. All you have to do is tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper-right corner and select “show internal storage” from the menu that appears. After this, you will be able to see all the files on the system on the left-of-screen menu.

5. Adjust your device’s Night Light
Even though Oreo provides you this feature, your phone should also be compatible with it. Head into the Display section of your system settings and look for the line labeled “Night Light.” Tap that line, then play around with the slider for the Night Light’s intensity til you find the night-time setting that’s easiest on your eyes.
